Helix Tower, Dual Track R18 + R22, 1.5 Turns, for Bachmann E-Z Track
A complete 3D printed helix tower for two parallel lines of Bachmann E-Z Track on the 18 in (457 mm) and 22 in (559 mm) curves. Sixteen columns stand every 22.5 degrees and the deck rises 6.25 mm per column - 100 mm (3.9 in) per turn, a grade of 2.85 % on the 22 in line and 3.48 % on the 18 in line - lifting both tracks 150 mm (5.9 in) over one and a half turns, with about 78 mm (3.1 in) of clearance above the rails under every crossbar. The E-Z Track roadbed itself is the beam: light open deck ladders drop into U channels on the crossbars, so no section can slide, and each frame module stands on the one below with square pegs. Over the approach an entry girder on three pillars replaces the last two columns, so the two approach tracks run in under the tower and straight onto the helix. Round feet, numbered frames and a straight section at the entry and the exit. Everything is printed - no glue, screws or bought hardware. The frames, modules and girder are printed in black and the decks in light grey; other colors on request. About 70 printed parts, about 126 cm (49.6 in) across. Track not included; made for E-Z Track only (the roadbed carries the train). Independently designed for use with Bachmann E-Z Track; not affiliated with or endorsed by Bachmann.
